About IPWEA

The Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPWEA) is a not-for-profit professional organisation which provides services, advocacy and support to the talented professionals who deliver vital public works and engineering services to the community. With members across Australia and New Zealand and a growing international presence, IPWEA has its vision fixed firmly on the future, while building on its long and distinguished history.

IPWEA is an industry leader in the field of asset management, with products including the International Infrastructure Management Manual (IIMM) and the National Asset Management Support (NAMS) programme internationally recognised and utilised.

With rapid membership growth, IPWEA covers public works and services delivered by all tiers of government, and its membership encompasses both the public and private sectors. Almost all of Australia and New Zealand’s professional consultancy firms specialising in public sector infrastructure – in areas such as roads, water, power, rail, ports and airports – have managers and staff who are members of IPWEA.
